Transportation Alternatives announced the winners of their open design competition to revision the public street in New York City for the 21st century.   The competition aimed to generate street designs that create a greater quality of life, economic development and liveliness for all users, not just those who drive.

The three winners that were chosen are posted below (high res images available here).  While there is only perspectives available currently; nonetheless some interesting ideas that appear to create some lively activity and social interactions on the street level.
