Bicycle Loop Detector and Pavement Marking

This bicycle sensitive loop detector (underneath the pavement cut out) will detect cyclists and trip the signal to change when a cyclist is present. The pavement marking directs the cyclist to the proper place to position the bicycle in order to trip the detector. Such relatively inexpensive investments can go a long way to encourage bicycle use for utilitarian purposes.
